“We are Europe ” youth exchange Baku , Azerbaijan , 21 – 29 April 2008 “We are Europe!” is an international youth exchange which aims to bring together 30 young people from three European Union countries and three Eastern European and Caucasus partner countries. They will together explore what is the European identity for them, whether they feel like Europeans, what is Europe and where its borders are. They will discover the other countries and cultures and think, reflect and express their opinions about themes like racism and xenophobia, role of women in society, intercultural and inter-religious dialogue, minorities in the society etc. The youth exchange will take place in Azerbaijan . 30 young people from the Czech Republic , Estonia , Luxembourg , Azerbaijan , Georgia and Russia will together create short movies. They will work in international groups and express their opinions and point of view through these movies. They will communicate not only in the international group, but also interact intensively with the local community in Azerbaijan . With video cameras they will record the every day life of the ordinary people, the culture and habits, traditions and add their own cultural point of view. A public presentation will be organised in the end of the youth exchange. The public and particularly young people will be invited to come and see the short movies of their peers from other countries. We will also invite representatives of NGOs and local authorities. The Youth in Action programme will be also introduced to them during the presentation, which will contribute to the visibility of the programme. The project is organised by Together Czech Republic and AEGEE Baku. Together Czech Republic is a member of pan-European network of youth organisations Together ( www.network-together.eu ).
